Yes I am still alive but have abit of catching up to do!!

Actually I need to start this (I did not get very far!)
and then head to HSSS for the Spring Fling concert - my last week has been one crazy on-the-run commitment filled schedule.
It is 10pm + - just home! After the school band concert, my son had a soccer game Against the Quest University team.

So to today at Squamish Elementary ....sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog- once I get out of the routine of doing it daily, I find it takes a real effort to get back on track.
Here goes....

Reminders
A fundraising meeting for camp has been cancelled until next week as we are still collecting the total
numbers and determine the need
The grade sevens took home their FSA results and booklets today - please know that these results are not used in report cards and the assessment is a separate snap shot look at how your child is managing the grade level expectations.
A hanging basket PAC fundraising form was also sent home if you are interested in purchasing
The Scholastic book fair is open for business
Thank you for returning the camp permission forms and payment - due to an oversight I photocopied the medical from on the back of the permission slip - I will send home new medical forms for students where necessary- also please let me know if you would like an official receipt for the payment (tax purposes)
Our day

Band class

Biennale project work continued
We have a postcard activity, a concrete poem, an acrostic for our last name and a personal flag to complete

Math magic squares a basic skills review using magic square adding and subtracting decimals - amazing what errors we make on calculators!!

Read to self

Computer session - paragraphs for the middle school sample

Back in class personal planning - a new class seating arrangement with input from the students

My question of the day: why do students find it so amusing and entertaining to carve up their erasers to throw little bits of them around the classroom?????

You know you are teaching adolescents when.....

Time for bed already!
Good night
Mrs. J.
