Too funny - the spell correct changed the day's title to sunny but old!! Need I say more :)
Just glad I caught it.

Many thanks to parent JT who did a job today that I have been procrastinating due to both time and tedium- thanks for your help. Promise that next time will be more fun!

Band class first thing after popcorn collections

Language arts- completed the word work part of the SRA practice activity although we will need to review it together tomorrow.


We did a couple of timed sessions and reviewed the type of questions the program asks the students to complete before setting the activity class wide.

Another part of speech puzzle was completed - Monday was a verb activity and today was past participles which we will be following up Wednesday during language time.

Math 7
Adding and subtracting integers today
Review of the procedure for switching the subtraction of integers to addition
Extra practice sheet using these skills in an every day capacity proved to be a bit more challenging
for some while others made light work of it (I am trying to encourage peer partners to work together
and help each other with the skills)
Have to say that the students worked well in math today for the most part and I am proud of how they met the challenge of the integer work.

Record - remembered the new record sheets today seven and a half hours of  personal reading in class this month

Computer session (Social Studies)
Grade 6 research basic info worksheet on their pacific rim country including capital city and location
Grade 7 question about the importance of a bibliography- what it is, why we need it and what one
looks like (using MLA format)
We had about 20 minutes longer in the lab than usual - a little bonus :)


Back in class we decided instead of getting out all the art materials for 15 minutes that we would all have a mandarin orange and they would sit back and enjoy a chapter of Word Nerd and I would have to say it was one of the more colorful chapters in which Ambrose's mum's worst fear come true when she finds her son involved in a police incident right outside his house!!
