Quick post from West Van.
I am grateful for the free wifi at the Aquatic centre
It was a beautiful sunset driving down the highway tonight

WE day assembly at 11am tomorrow (math 7 groups postponed)
Christmas card writing day Friday

Our day
Lanaguage Arts
Spelling practice for tomorrow

Corrected and reviewed the practice SRA activity and distributed student booklets with their placement colours for a Thursday start

Communicating skills book: past participles of common and irregular verbs - we did the activity orally participating in class rather than writing it onto paper

French
bandes designees (comic strip stories) each pair received a comic strip story in French using all the high frequency words we have been using (and others) they worked together to 'read' and translate the stories using the glossary and the comic strip questions.

Math 7

Follow up on the practice activity we were working on at the end of class yesterday and we even managed to start into an introduction to Order of Operations with integers
The second half of class we were at the computers where the students had time to try the following in the order they determined: some on-line FSA practice from the Ministry website, IXL 20 daily questions on adding and subtracting integers and looking at Ch 9 on the Mathlinks 7 site.

Read to self
Record

Physical education
Line basketball game this afternoon
Pretty good team play and participation

Finished with a dribbling activity and shooting baskets in small groups as they can tend to be pretty wild in a game shooting at the hoop!!
Had some extra time I gym today which is great as it makes up for missing last Wednesday due to parent meetings :)

Art
Winter/ Christmas Posters and/or 'hot/cold' geometrics (illusion of 3-D)

No Word Nerd this afternoon just wanted to let them focus on a bit of social interaction during art session - there are some beautiful posters

Dismissal was sudden tonight as we were enjoying the art time!!

Have a warm evening
Mrs. J.
