Thursday, December 19th

My students are all excited about the snow that is expected tonight!

Reminded everyone to...
Take home all shoes, clothing, containers, instruments and other personal belongings from the cloakroom
Take home and complete the class novel if Part 2 is not yet read
Take home their social studies project outline for research

Our day

This morning we worked for the first 40 minutes on the craft that we are going to teach Mrs.Hoyrup's students (our buddy class) later this morning
We prepared the yarn and the students all started their own toque - experts say that there is no better way for students to learn something than having to teach it to someone else

Band class

11-12 we welcomed our little buddies Grade2/3, listened to some Christmas music and completed a craft I stole from Pinterest which had us make tiny Christmas toques that we stashed Hershey's kisses inside. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and it was neat to see them all work together.

Read to self
Record for the December Scholastic draw tomorrow

Games session while we had approx a third of the students were out of class helping elsewhere in the school working to help primary teachers and students, baking and returning book stashes to the library not to mention emptying recycling boxes! They were happy to be of help.

Art  (continuation)
One chapter of Word Nerd left for tomorrow - I'd like to have it completed by the end of the day tomorrow.

Pack up for the evening
See you tomorrow for our class day. Thanks to everyone who let me know they could bring something to share and to those who let me know that they would not be there tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Christmas - enjoy and rest up for a busy new year which for both grades will be the last 6 months of elementary school!

See most of you tomorrow- by the way it is snowing now!
Mrs. J.
