Merry Christmas Post. December 20th

Well, snow it did. It is still snowing and it certainly looks like a winter wonderland outside (until we have to drive home!!)
The students have enjoyed the breaks today rolling in the snow among other pursuits...

Thank you to all the families and students who supported our class day venture and sent some goodies to share. We had more than enough.

This morning we all participated in the 'gift game' and the students who forgot to bring a gift or left it behind were able to participate with the extras brought by Mrs Dawson and myself so everyone played. It took us an hour and a bit. Everyone played in good spirit and everyone received a candy gift even if it wasn't the one they had their eyes on at the beginning of the game.

A Christmas Story, the movie, played and after recess we all enjoyed Mrs. J's special recipe hot chocolate and some goodies.

The students seemed to enjoy the movie even although it is vintage!! Some said they had never seen it before! That surprised me just a little.

We completed the movie at approx. 1:30pm and then we headed to the computer lab- I suggested some research for their socials projects but the students just rolled their eyes and laughed at me and instead negotiated some free time!! I gave in rather too easily if you ask me.

After another round of hot chocolate for some (it was the most perfect day for hot chocolate and marshmallows) we tidied up and cleared out the cloakroom to head home for the holiday.  I managed to complete our class novel Word Nerd but the students were a little disappointed with the ending of the story- it wasn't really a conclusion but more a ...to be continued ...maybe!

We made it intact. The students were very excited when the dismissal bell rang!

Thank you for all your generous Christmas gifts and wishes - you made my day and I am very appreciative. Have a wonderful Christmas break, enjoy and rest up for a busy 2014.

Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous new year.
See you all in January
Mrs. J.
