Today there was a buzz of energy some of it positive and some of it frenetic!

some students are completing the Chapter 1 review for science (grade 6 and grade 7 have separate activites). The review is a cloze format- which means they may use the text to 'dig out' answers

Phys Ed. volleyball - good sportsmanship today - the students who are advanced in their volleyball skills were patient and helpful of the students who were learning (for the most part). Good session.

Spelling and Language
editing skills - finding 10 errors of language in a short paragraph about King Tut's tomb in Egypt

return Unit 5 and Challenge 1 results - great job all challenge students passed and are onto the challenge 2 vocabulary activity
On the general list only one student needed to consider a redo of the unit (mostly missing letters)
[ Challenge 2 words: baleen, beneficiary, bestiary, bivouac, bombazine, braodside, bumptious, bunco and butte]
Unit 6 for the general list was prepped for this Thursday

some students needed time to get themselves up to date with incomplete work and activites for language and spelling

Math 7 working step by step through some more BEDMAS examples together- it was a challenge today to encourage students to work step by step in order of the BEDMAS rules
Needed to go over exponents- used another activity
the BEDMAS quiz will be Wednesday as Thursday is our Remembrance Day assembly and there is no school Friday
examples will be from the work and activites we have completed together in class- there are enough examples to practice on (I gave the correct answers and all students have to do is the step by step arithemetic to find the solution)
