Feb 27th Our Anti-Bullying Pink Shirt Day

Have to be careful how I type that- try saying it fast 10 times!!

Homework
math 7 students have a 5 question equation quiz and a self-assessment to do in class tomorrow- they have been advised what to prepare for the review (during today's class)
Grade Seven students have to get a parent's signature to complete the registration at DRS today they recieved a Grade 8 schedule, registration form and a privacy form
DRS would like the forms back in the next week or so before spring break
9am Pink Shirt Day assembly - that's a lot of students

Our students from primary to intermediate have a lot to be proud of because they ran our assembly this morning and the messages were well received and poignant. We have been challenged by the younger students in our school to keep a tally of 100 acts of kindness per class by spring break (March 15th). Game on!

Then, it was time for Band class
that is why I have started the post so early as Mr. Parker and I have a Don Ross Secondary transition meeting (for the current grade sevens) after school and I often find if I don't get a jump start on the post I am inevitably either forgetting it or doing it too late in the evening to be of any good!

Math 7
today we are contining with the MathLinks7 Ch1 learning skills of plotting coordinates and designing geometric figures (flags and crosses) on a Cartesian plane.

1-2pm today Mr. Thompson the DRS counsellor will be here to meet and discuss what can be expected by the grade eights this September at the high school. The grade sixes will be with Mr. Parker and will more than likey continue working on their floor plans for their dream home.

2-3pm more later right now I am not 100% sure what it will look like- I need to get everyone in Division 1  Gr. 6/7 back together first.
That might mean 20 minutes in the gym or if that is too tight for time,  we will probably begin the art project that I introduced a week or so ago researching, sketching and depicting mythological creatures.
Knowing how much my student love their reading time they may even request a quiet reading time- I will go with the flow.

Yes, it is a busy place
More later...stay tuned
Mrs. J.
