Apologies to my faithful daily readers for the last couple of days of no posting...mea culpa
Tuesday I was away from school and in my absence the TOC, Mr. Day, reported that he had a fabulous day with the class. It is always good to hear that especially at the end of a long school year. I am proud of the students and very grateful to Mr. Day. Merci.

Clean up and dismissal
Today June 5th
About a month or so ago (maybe two) I had the students write me about their worst days. Well, today I had one of those one " horrible, no good, very bad days" myself.
Part of me wished I'd stayed home another day (to get over the tummy bug that I have been suffering from) but the other part of me realized that putting off the inevitable just means more worry and speculation.
It is sometimes difficult to remember when people are upset (with me) that many easily solved issues seem to be insurmountable. It makes me aware that no matter how hard I work or how much I try to encourage, juggle or organize, there is always someone who feels it is not enough.
My resolve is to remain as professional as possible and try to explain my reasons and perspective. Anyhoo...
Today in class
Science Ch 5 (mixtures and solutions) work that was in need of completing before we move onto other topics Thursday (trying to fit in some more science time Thursday and Friday)
Band
Math 7 today, I returned the Math quizzes (on angles and lines) and about 10 students need to redo the quiz (a third of the class)
we corrected the area and perimeter booklet and a worksheet on calculating the area of a trapezoid before we used the last half hour for the Spend a Million project which is due next week
Silent Reading
today Brody and Ethan worked well with Aaron (thanks guys- fabulous work!)
Thank you to Kasper who came for some extra math help - I really appreciate it when students make the effort to seek a bit of assistance with concepts that they find difficult
Thank-you to Simi for doing a few odd jobs and assisting Ashley in getting her crazy class bin organized so she could find her work sheets
Personal Planning - finally completing the lesson from last week on the process of conception.
managed to complete answering the remaining anonymous questions the students asked using some resources that I read from and showing some (very neat) pictures of the process of baby development.
Phys Ed. split gym basketball and floor hockey shifts
all went well. Yeah!
Complete the crossword puzzle for the puberty review vocabulary- the students did a great job and we discussed the final part of the unit which will focus on the birth process and early care of a baby. Hopefully, that will put them off for a few years (lol).
The majority are still at the 'curious- but-that's-gross' stage regarding all things body.
Before we knew it, it was time for clearing up and Dismissal
Staff meeting
Parent meeting
Colleague meeting
Like I said before some days are sent to remind us that most days are pretty 'sweet'. I didn't think I needed that reminder right now but the world works on mysterious ways.... doesn't it?
I'm at home finishing this post now at 8:17pm
Mrs. J.
