Thursday March 25th

MAny thanks for the garage sale items and baking that are being donated for the Saturday sale- we do need more so don't be shy about finding items to send in. The more 'stuff' the more $$$ for the students' trip.

I'd like to be fast on the blog tonight because I need to go home and purge my house of the items I want to donate!! I used to have an office at home- you should see it (actually, no, you shouldn't) stuffed to the door with 'stuff' I don't exactly need or use or want anymore. What about your 'office'? L0l

No homework BUT lots of forms and couse selection for DRSS is due next Wednesday.
Student-led conference bookings, Camp commitment and tomorrow there will be a District request for your input into the 2011 March break next year.

General Day
Bit different because grades 4-6 were at Science World.
QUIET up here on the second floor!

We did a partner game called the Box Game- it is a game of strategy- the student with the most boxes 'claimed' wins
While the studemts were doing this, I provided them with individual print-outs of their Term 2 marks/grades. Only a couple wanted me to go back and check the marks. I'll do that tonight.

Music with Ms. Borsoff (TOC in for Mrs McPhee)

MAth Jeopardy play off. The winner by far (with the fastest time to the bell at 7 seconds) was Mr. H. J. with $3,300. In second place was E.C. both student won a free book choice from the April Scholastic order ($4.99) The other intrepid plyers will each receive a chocolate bar of their choice. Only trouble with games like these are you tend to lose the majority of students to chatter.

After lunch I took them to the gym for P.Ed. a probably should have known better than to give the students a choice of activity. We started playing a game that became so fiercely competitive for some that I had to shut it down!! We ended up playing a version of DUCK,DUCK,GOOSE just to allow the whole class to participate at the same safety level- some weren't loving it but others seemed to enjoy the variety of moves they were required to do (hiphop dance, crab crawl, hop, pirouette, lunge, tiptoe, frog hop etc.) We lucked out and had a double block of gym :) Lucky me!!

DEAR time
discussion of new seating plan- groups for term3 as I need 'lab' type groups for math and science.
students completed yet another request form which I will peruse and use to set the groups!!!

Some posters and reminders to finish the day

See you tomorrow.
Mrs. J.
