The students were very 'wound up' today so I think perhaps the good weather might be awakening some energy!!!
Homework
no new work for Friday BUT...
I have been encouraging students to complete the novel Dragon Keeper
** we discussed today the novel review assignment that will go ahead next week**
I remembered to give out the hot lunch forms this morning and I will ensure the rest of the Purdy's PAC sale packages are sent home for the weekend. Sales for Regal and Purdy's are due next Friday.
Tomorrow please also find a permission form for the sledge hockey on March 19th
Another head's up while I remember, on Mondays for the next several weeks we will be combining the grade seven students into one class 11- 12 noon for the Drug and Alcohol program lessons which will be conducted by Amy McKinnon (D&A counsellor) for the District. The lessons are specific to each grade and allow us to focus on the transition to grade eight as a united group.

DEAR time
Science- Earthquake survival plan- analysis of the contents of an earthquake disaster kit- what to have ready for the "big one". I was impressed that compare to the 2006 list of survival contents included in the Californian ESP (Emergency Survival Program) the students were accurate on about 85% of what was suggested. I provided the students with lists if you are interested in seeing what is suggested.
With too little time for art I challenged the students to a QUIET game called silent kushball for ten minutes and they actually managed to maintain focus and relative silence throughout - go figure :)
See everyone tomorrow- we have Hip Hop dance lessons tomorrow afternoon- it should be fun!!
Mrs. J.
