General Day

I had to take a bit of 'housekeeping' time at the beginning of the day as there are so many things going on and forms and permission slips for activities as well as requests for the grade sevens to help generally around the school. I need to be fair and so we did a popsicle stick random draw.

collected for popcorn and hot lunches

started with a journal writing entry using five words (three phrases) that the student were to create a paragraph from (palm trees, ocean, humpback whales)

Next I read for about ten minutes from a class novel (haven't done this in a long time)

Took advantage of a morning computer session 20 minutes science and 10 minutes 'free' time

Math- we worked on the step by step arithmetic to accurately simplify order of operations with integers. It was beginning to get difficult to get student attention (close to lunch?)

DEAR time after lunch

Chocolate bar commercials (drama skits)

2-2:30pm Hip Hop dance lessons- a trained dance teacher from Howe Sound Dance Academy taught us the beginnings of a hip hop routine- it was challenging and difficult to follow but we did our best

art finished the day

TGIF- need to get the last three socials projects completed.
have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs J.
