Thursday October 1st

Hi everyone

Tonight's homework
It is very important that students be at p84 in their novel, Who is Frances Rain? (end of chapter 15) for tomorrow's class

In class we will be writing the rough copy and the good copy will be expected in on Monday October 5th. During Friday's class the students will be given a good chunk of class time to get the writing started. A few students already have a rough copy and will spend time on Friday complting their good copy and may get it finished in the time available.

Other than that everything else is overdue work

Today's Class
What can I say- it was busy!!

We started with unit 2 spelling test and started on a vocabulary challenge worksheet. I provided aguide for the reader's response #3 and we did a bit of discussion which was great. We strted chatting about weird experiences (connected to the novel) and many students had amazing stories :)
We reviewed yesterday's math work and specifically looked at equivalent % decimals and fractions- a challenge for some. Most important skill for math is giving full attention to the instruction and I am a bit frustarted by the number of students who are literally on another planet!!! Working on it.

The students had both music and Physical Education today. We finished the day with a social studies excavation grid which we need more time to follow up (tomorrow) and for art there were several projects on the go...

Like I said - busy place. See you tomorrow.
