Hi All
tonight's homework is very similar to Tuesday's work
Spelling Test for Unit 2 tomorrow morning STUDY (the students have had some time every day)
A writing guide will be provided for Reader's Response #3 but all students MUST have read up to the end of Chapter 15 in the novel
Math Cross #1 and what is left from today's class assignment
Grade 6 p 118 #1-4 (considering large numbers and how they are written/used)
Grade 7 p 192 #5-8 thinking about % and finding numbers
I have also sent some division practice sheets home with students who needed extra practice however, I found a few lying behind in class on desks!! Still working on responsibility
a couple of students still have the 2nd reader's response to had in- they know who they are and were reminded at the end of the day!!
grade six immunization forms will be collected by the nurse tomorrow. Thank to those who have already returned them.
Today in class
Sorry if your kids come home buzzing about camp but today we had our class vote on the camp they would like to attend and 21 of 29 students liked the sound of Camp Homewood on Quadra Island. I have to confirm our booking there for May of next year. I will be sending home information pacakages soon but just needed to get back to the camp director asap.
The day went by in a heartbeat: spelling, novel, journal writing, math DEAR reading and a class meeting. Every student had a chance to think about what was bugging them in our class community and we will make an effort to address the issues together in the coming months. After we discussed the 3 camps we were considering, we went to teh computer lab and checked out each camp's web site to help with the final vote.
I think you would be surprised by some of your darling children's responses to the journal question: if you could have anonimity and be invisible for 24 hours what would you do?
:0 I'll let you think about that one yourself (LOL)
I am off to try a fitness class now so quick one tonight. More tomorrow. Mrs J.
