Thursday Oct 15th, 2009

Good luck to our cross country runners who are taking part in the last school race tonight at Brackendale. Mrs Paxton wrote an inspiring message on their hands today to finish strong :)

We are having productive mornings for the most part but afternoons, especially after P.Ed., are quite difficult to settle, This afternoon we wasted quite a bit of time with really noisy and distracted transitions nevertheless we did get some reading, a chart for socials and a smidgen of art in before planners and a silly class story which was sent my way by Mrs. Blackwell about the rat named Riley. Ask your son or daughter to tell you the tale as it is really quite a tongue in cheek version of "Be happy with less"!
We still need major cooperation to happen for transitions in class (from subject to subject). Less chatter and more focus would be a welcome change- I'll have to think of an incentive that is meaningful to the students!!

I can't believe how fast the days are flying by...

Homework for Friday
Spelling Test Unit 4 tomorrow
if not already handed in, complete the good copy of Reader's Response #4
last page of the math booklet on exponents (most started in class)
Reminders
Crazy Hair day tomorrow bring 1$ for popcorn
t-shirt orders due tomorrow $10
photo packages due Oct 22nd (next Thursday)
still outstanding payments and fees to be turned in

Have a good Thursday night. Be here tomorrow with crazy wild and wacky hair doos!!! I have always wanted to see what I look like with grey hair!!! You never know what might happen tonight!! Come tomorrow and see.
Mrs. J.
