Well, we all survived April Fool's Day- no kidding!!
Some students went looking all recess for Mrs. Paxton's lost white rabbit, Charlie (April Fools) and the poor grade sixes were teased about having received the wrong vaccinations on Monday and April Fooled that they'd have to get them again!!! They don't!!
All was quiet in grade seven because I think they forgot that they only had until noon!! YEAH
Today was the first day without Mrs. Kubin- but her name was used all day as the students have forgotten my name (kidding). My new name is Mrs. KuJohnston (I kind of like it:))
We had a productive day. Students did a great job on the left/right brain worksheet.
We discussed our beliefs today in community circle and we and some funny and some very deep thoughts about what we believe. In French we boogied to a cheesy song about prepositions- we are not ready to sing it yet :) In Math we re-visited the concept of plotting cartesien graphs and the students plotted the Canadian maple leaf.
We made $13 at lunch recycling!!
After lunch during Phys. Ed., I met with Maureen Mackell to discuss the possibility of a VIP (Violence is Preventable) workshop for our class sometime in May. To end our day we started exploring the Greek myths, monsters, gods, heros and the crazy stories that the Greeks are experts at creating to plan team (or individual) poster story boards.
Minimal Homework:
Spelling test tomorrow Unit 22
please complete and turn in the French etre booklets and the 'A' & 'B' vocab-u-lous worksheets
Camp forms and commitments need to be returned so I can have our trip approved by the board
A school Newsletter went home today with information for parents of grade sevens regarding a open invitation to all parents of grade seven students transitioning to grade eight this September to attend a parent night at HSSS Tuesday, April 7th at 7pm. This is an opportunity for parents and students to find out about HSSS - there will be a general information session and a guided tour of the facilities. Put it on your calendar.
See you tomorrow- remember gymnastics begins in the morning, there is a boy's floor hockey game and we need to start practicing our songs for Voices of Nature.
