Monday April 6th

Hi Folks,
I was at a workshop on Friday (Dealing with Conflict !!) and Ms. Appleton taught the class on Friday April 3rd. She left some detailed notes and besides a few students making bad choices, she reported a productive and successful day :) The students were challenged to improve their spelling test average and they did so in spades (((hugs))) by 20%. The average on last week's test was 56% - this week's test average was 76%- see what a bit of effort can do- what a difference. Congratulations.

Our day today was over in the blink of an eye. We had a Satisfaction survey in the computer lab for the government surveys, a gymnastics class with Amanda and Jackie D. visited us for the second Drug and Alcohol session 2-3pm. A small group stayed after school to help make up the Purdy's lollipop orders and we have managed to make a small profit.

We had 480 lollipops and have sold approx 350 so there are a few left- today among other things, we brainstormed how to sell the rest and the students had some great ideas. We'll decide and get back to you if you are interested.

Bits and Pieces
Malcolm represented our class on the Logo committee at lunch hour today.
Mrs. Kubin visited at lunch time today - it was good to see her.
Late orders for Purdy's pops will still be taken until Wednesday :)
Remember it is a three (3) day week this week. Last day for students is Wednesday 8th
the boy's floor hockey game tomorrow will take place at thew HSSS gym because we are set up for gymnastics until Wednesday this week

A survey about next year's school year went home today although I realize it will not affect most of you as your childeren will be off to HSSS.

No new homework- the spelling test will be postponed until April 16th
I would just like to encourage the students with incomplete assignments to get them done !!!
I have 20 camp forms in - enough to have the trip approved- the remaining ten need to be in by Wednesday of this week if they wish to be included on the roster(no payment is needed until May). Thanks.
See you all tomorrow for more lovely sunshine!!
