January 21st Tuesday

In the interest of getting the post in before the end of the day....we are currently at the computer lab (again). It has been that kind of day today.

spelling on Friday this week for Unit 6 and J words
socials projects due Monday Jan 27th or at the latest Thursday Jan 30th
due to the Professional development day on Friday Jan 31st, I would like the projects for the weekend so I can start assessment
FYI the spelling NEXT week will return to Thursday as there will be no school in session on Friday

spelling practice QI (quick instruction session) on verbs and tenses - activity to recognize the verbs (different verb tenses and what they represent in time will come later) right now it is just a verb recognition activity- can you identify the verbs? There were 28 but we will need more time for this tomorrow as we did not get a chance to assess it.

Math 7 class was used today for the Grade sevens to complete the first section of the FSA assessment on-line today at the computer lab

computer session for the socials projects which are due next week
- still finding some students reluctant to remain focused enough to work through the outline provided. Some are in good shape and are ready to put the finishing touches on their work while others are really struggling to understand the concept of wise use of time and orgnaization of information as per the outline sections.

It has been an intensive kind of day so instead of starting the movie for science we decided a bit of time in the fresh air would do us all some good. So we 'hung' out at the spider web structure out back for 20 minutes of unstructured fresh air time consider it a DPA alternative- believe me we needed it!!!

back in class we tidied up, there was too little time left for our Egyptian art or another chapter of the novel to see if it will work as our next read aloud!
