chapter 7 novel Touching Sprit Bear
worked on an activity encouraging summarizing of events in a chapter (to three sentences of the main ideas)
personal opinion response: a two or three sentence reaction to the chapter's events or main ideas
This is a start to building written responses that stay on topic and include a personal reaction to a story plot.

Will be working more on this activity at computers this afternoon- one reason I want to ensure their confidence and word processing skills is due to the use of the computer for the FSA testing in January whan we will be working on assessments for the Ministry of Education on-line for reading, wrtitng and numeracy.

Math 7
today we reviewed the adding and subtracting activites and started into multiplying with decimals again using estimation to determine accurate answers.
Ch 2.2 pp.57-58 # 9-12
It was a busy class today as three students were away Monday and missed yesterday's work, others were completing Monday work because it didn't get finished for home practice and a few others were catching up on previous incomplete work. So I had all sorts of organization today and went round and round making sure to touch base with everyone.

had some extra time at the lab for some games much to their delight- gave up a chance to go out for a game!!

Back in class read a chapter + of our read aloud Word Nerd in which Ambrose gets ambushed by the school bullies and gets rescued by his neighbour Cosmo.
