Thursday Oct 3rd
I am hoping that sometime in the VERY near future that I will not have to be in a mad rush at the end of the day...
Reminders first
Friday Oct 4th
no NEW homwework however,
the grade 7 Math 7 students have a quiz tomorrow on rounding numbers and I have asked them to review
the grade 6 Math 6 students have approx. a page and a half of classwork to complete
the PAC magnetic calendars were issued today - they are handy for dates if you pop it on the door of your fridge
FYI a new seating plan was organized today and was like a UN negotiation- in future I will rearrange the desks when the students have gone home for the day!! They will have a certain amount of input, of course but it takes a lot of time. I do encurage everyone to be prepared to work beside and together with everyone else but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that make this unrealistic especially at this point in the schiol year. We are still buliding trust and routines!
our day ...details later if I have the time
Spelling Test Unit 1
journal write
If you could change one thing about the adults in your life what woulf it be?
random pick from the IF...book of questions.
I'll share once I have the chance to read them :)
Band class
Math7 rounding numbers
complete the mathcross puzzle (subtraction and division skills)
quiz #3 tomorrow (rounding decimals)
I find it frustrating trying to encourage students to be their own advocates by actually using the resources available to them for assistance like charts and calculators for checking accuracy- I still want to see their working not just the answers. You may be surprised how many need to be reminded to help themselves and be proactive.
The classroom can become a noisy place (not always bad but creating more challenge for students who need to have some quiet for their brains to focus and concentrate) I need to work on some on-task quiet time in the Math 7 sessions.
read to self
record
new seating into place (was a BIG deal!)
French follow up to introductory class yesterday- activities asking for days, months, dates and weather phrases.
Planet Earth: Frozen Seas
25 minutes
planner time and a start to Ch 12 Word Nerd
The day disappeared...
Have a decent evening
Mrs. J.
