WE day in Vancouver- we have been livestreaming some of the action from Roger's Arena (not BC Place anymore- Mrs. J. living under a rock in Squamish!!) and allowing the students to see what their classmates are taking part in, in the Big Smoke!

Work on art project while we watched the opening events of the WE day celebrations on the digital overhead
we tried but were unable to livestream Kiarrah's skating competition- apparently there were some ice allocation issues in Abbotsford! Hope you had a great skate, Kiarrah.
Math 7 a bit more practice with the art of moving decimal places as we multiply to make the numbers larger and divide to make them smaller- moving decimal points right and left and wee...you get the point (bad pun!! Sorry)
I asked the students today about their feedback to the idea of a Thursday group concept for the Math 7 course in which students who need more remediation on basic skills will work together with Mrs. Masterson, students who just need more practice to assimilate steps for success (and complete homework that is not being done!) will form another group who will work with Mrs. Bruce and that would leave a group for 'challenge' - where we can move on and work on more advanced concepts using the learning outcomes for Math 7. The class numbers work nicely to form three groups one of 8 and two of 7.
They seemed to like the idea. Starting next week we will try the first group break out and the idea (goal) is that within a certain time schedule we (teachers) will check that the small group concept is working successfully and decide if the groups need to be juggled or some students switched. My goal is to coach a group that maybe will be able to prep for one of the Math 7 competitions this year!!! You never know.

Back in class
Rock candy testing - gooey and oozy but some wanted to take their syrup home! Sorry if they experience a sugar rush at home!!
Planners and pack up for week- there was a ton of Lost and Found but not necessarily going home!!! My sink area is littered with unwanted, sad and lonely water bottles and lunch containers!??
Word Nerd advance the chapter...
Have a great weekend
Mrs. J.
