Wednesday June 12th

no homework

reminders
Sports day Friday

Our day...

Had the students help with today's review of daily French high frequency words- day, month, date, weather, time and activity.

Term 3 novel reflection activity- wanted students to provide a reflection and rating of the term 3 novel that they read and responded to this term. Collected novels- a couple are still at home- please rememeber to return them- muchas gracias (merci)

Band class- today and Thursday big practice for the upcoming year end concert (Wed 19th)

Math 7 Statistics
instruction and practice on using the Chart Wizard program on Microsoft Excel to create graphs from data on spread sheets- computer session- I know it is late in June but it did make me a happy teacher to hear some students express their delight at how easy it was to create 'skookum' visual charts and that they learned something new (go figure- there are a few applications on programs that they are not aware of and this one is a very useful tool).

Silent Reading/literacy- not so silent around these parts anymore but the students do settle for a reading time that is much needed during our busy. hectic days- I know they miss the reading time if I don't schedule it!

Phys Ed- one group wanted to do a 7 a side soccer game outdoors and the other group (7) wanted to play a game of volleyball in the gym- it worked out well. We even had a chance to play a couple of rounds of 4 Corners before heading back to class. I think they enjoyed the session. There is some great soccer talent among the students.

So, we finally got around to agreeing on a final seating plan and the students moved their desks accordingly (of course the bell rang right in the middle of the relocation so I needed the help of a couple of students after school to understand the final desk map. Thanks Aiden and Derek :)

Have a good evening
Mrs. J.
