Friday, May 3rd

Welcome to all my readers from Germany!

I am excited to report that the hits opn our class Blog are now at over 10,000.
Recently, the hits on our class Posts from Germany have surpassed the Canadian and US hits- there must be some reason - whatever it is I am happy to welcome new readers to the Blog and hope our daily posts give an insight into the shape of a Canadian elementary school day.

I would love to hear from you if you have any comments about what you see or read.

Homework
Have requested that class novels(all three) be completed by mid May so we can have a lit. circle type discussion about how students enjoyed them
Math 7 Finding the Circumference using pi - second column of the worksheet set in today's class
Reminders
Big garage sale this weekend 9-1pm see you there bring stuff to donate or a plate of cookies to sell - all donations and proceded go to our year end camp for the grade 6/7's

Heads Up- grad hoodies were distributed today- if not yet identified with a name or initials, please encourage your son/daughter to put their name in it as we now have 60 identical hoodies (need a way to tell theirs from another's)

Big shout out to Bailey, Rowan and Teaghan who helped me unpack, organize and deliver the grad hoodies to five classes this morning all in 40 minutes. I could not have done it without you. Many thanks.
I owe you one.

Our day...

Band class

Science
Identifying the difference bertween Physical and chemical changes in processes. Discussed several examples and expalined why we thought what we thought- most seem to have a really good handle on the difference. Completed the activity with definitions of the processes.
fire drill 10:15 (we all survived)

Math 7 Finding the circumference of circles

Silent reading

Computer Session Google: Wordle.net
Wordles for the visual poem that was introduced yesterday. Students chose and created their Wordles (word clouds) using ideas and words connected to the chose topic: hockey Playoffs, Boston Marathon tragedy, favourite video games, favourite things, cookies (all sorts) etc.

Art to complete the day and some helped to set up the gymnasium for the garage sale this weekend.

Days are tumbling over each other!! Now that it is May, are they going faster than usual or does it just seem like it?
Dismissal
Hope to see some of you tomorrow.
Have a great weekend
Mrs J.
