Last August I posted a blurb on "Back to School " Supplies. AUGUST.
It's July 25th.
I just returned from a quick trip to Walmart for laundry detergent and was blown away by the displays right at the front door so you can't miss them (as-if) of shelf on shelf of back to school supplies.
I say again...." DON"T do it, people!"
There is no use, none, for two thirds of the junk they put out as 'essential' for learning; as a matter of fact most of the novelty items will be lost broken or otherwise obsolete by mid August.
Advice?
Keep your hands in your pocket, don't pick anything up, try to walk by without being distracted by the leopard skin scissors (really!!), avoid trips with your children who will convince you that those leopard skin scissors will help them make new friends at school (if they aren't broken before you get them through the classroom door!) and best advice for last, just remember that it is still SUMMER vacation. Buy a water pistol if you have to- there might be a leopard skin version if you look hard enough but please wait for the school supply blow out sales just before they put the Halloween candy out in August!
Peace out.
