Thursday June 14th

Another interesting day for schedule- it sure makes the days whizzzzzz by...

No new homework
Still pending are 11 socials brochures and 8 spend a milion projects
The understanding I have with the students who still have these acticivities to hand in:  use tonight or this weekend and complete them for Monday morning OR hand in as is for a mark for work completed (I cannot assess work if nothing is handed in- something is always better than nothing!)

Reminders
Sports Day tomorrow... Rah Rah Rah (remind me to get an early night!)
Concession will be run by the PAC group Pizza $2, drinks $1 and misceallaneous items (like watermelon slices and freezies for 0.50)

our day today

Sports Day: shared teams and stations, the schedule and the set up needed.

Language Arts
complete work started yesterday on 'd' vocab-u-lous words and the etymology units (#3)

French -er verbs booklet activity to practice the correct verb endings in les phrases francais

Science some students needed some time for the Ch 5 review

Math did a brief review today on adding fractions which need to have a common denominator. The rest oif the class was dedicated to the Spend a million project.

1pm-1:20 Set up gym for band concert

1:20-2:20pm band concert in tandem with the visiting Garibaldi Highlands Grade 6/7 band
Both bands played a selection of songs they have been working on and a couple together- never have we had so many children with instruments in the same room together (150?)! Oi vey!
As you can imagine it took a bit to get everything together but they both sounded great once underway.

2:20-2:30 strike the gym (the students are getting good at it especially when they all help)
Back in class we cleared off desks and packed bags and headed to the gym as the class usually there at that time was on a bike ride)
We played a few rounds one of the station games for sports day tomorrow called ribbon relay (or gold rush). It is essentially a running game started in relay style and once all the ribbons are gone from the centre, the teams can take from one another.

Dismissal after a bit of a rally for sports day tomorrow.
Have a restful evening.
Mrs. J.
