It was like a Thursday and Friday wrapped together today and because I moved the science lesson to this morning, it took on the feeling of a Friday complete with a computer session!!
Some days things work out...
Homework
nothing new for the long weekend
I had a little hissy fit and hope that some who have incomplete assignments might be super diligent and get them completed this weekend (but I won't be holding my breath)
reminders

11:30-noon Spend a Million computer session #2 this week

Silent reading- thank you, Lord- it was very good today- silent and reading !!!
Quick explanation of WE Day (Wikipedia and the WE website - next fall our school had 20 tickets and would like to encourage all the grade six students who will be our grade sevens next year to consider if they would like to enter the draw for the tickets by writing a 300 word essay about why they would like to attend the Vancouver We rally in the fall of 2012.
The essay will outline their volunteer opportunities and interest in the Free the Children's annual event.
French quiz (review) of the clothing vocabulary we have been using for the last few weeks. I have to use it for some (17 as a matter of fact) as a unit review as they did not submit their French project (L'armoire) for assessment!!!
Phys. Ed. Capture the Flag in the trails at the back of the school. Nice to be out in the fresh air :)
The game itself was better than the last time although it took a while to set up (there's always a student who doesn't think the rules or the set up is fair!!) Thankfully no-one ran into the poison ivy this time either. A small group of boys opted out to throw a football around in the back field and again thankfully they seemed to enjoy it.
Dismissal
Have a very relaxing long weekend
Mrs. J.
Hi Selene,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog. I love reading it and seeing what you and the class have been up to. Happy that it's the long weekend and I'm hoping you get a bit of a rest, but not holding my breath. ;D
Think it's great that your kids won the Legion Poetry Contest. They must have been so excited. You should publish the poems on the blog, so that the parents can read them, and so can I.
Seems that you have been extremely busy again, or I should say, as usual. :D
Love reading what you and Mrs J's Grade 7's have been up to. Thanks for keeping this up and letting us all know what's happening with all of you.
Diane.
