Wednesday April 11th

Happy Birthday, Roshni (and to my sister Pauline) Hope you have a special day.

Well, the sunshine was short lived!

New seating plan went over okay. Does seem to be more 'squished' than it was with groups but I have had a couple fo positive comments and that is important. We are in pairs and one trio to fit 27 students. Can't imagine where we would put any more desks, bodies and equipment with this arrangement!

Math 7
Circle graphing - key ideas- practice in text
Did one worksheet together approximating the sectors needed for three different data collections. We used a template of an oversize ten part circle graph to guess the different sizes of sectors.
At our computer session, I showed the Microsoft Excel Graph Wizard function to show students how to insert data and create accurate and snazzy pie charts (and other graph types) to present their information using technology. I think they enjoyed it once they got the hang of the steps.

Silent reading
Arsh did a great job with our visiting student Aaron (from primary)

Organization Time
With desks in new spots we needed to regroup the class supply bins and clean out binders of Term 2 work to make way for this term's assignments. It is always a 'messy' operation and can get quite frantic. There are always a few who think they can just recycle everything but I watch like a hawk and I even go 'dumpster diving' to retrieve items I think should be in their file folders!!!!

Personal Planning: Endocrine System
Follow up activity to the chart last week in which we learned about glands and how they help us function physically. Today was a bit of a review on where these glands are and what they do for our body.

Phys. Ed Split gym
floor hockey and badminton
Went well.

Students completed their organization and finished the PP worksheet. We went over the chart which identifies the glands and their functions to ensure all students were starting with the same information for the rest of the activities.

Dismissal
Have a great evening
Mrs. J.
