What a difference a day makes ... beautiful day outside!
Homework and reminders
Spelling Test #1 tomorrow morning- study this week's spelling words
No new Math 7 homework- gives a chance for catch up for those who are behind. However, there will be a class quiz on Friday on rounding numbers- some review of what we have learned so far will help tremendously!
Math 6 complete the next worksheet for finding the missing number in a pattern (t-chart)
Novel Chapter 4 questions to get from approx 4 or 5 students, I can remind them about that tomorrow
Reminders
verification forms?
planner $$?
General Day
Daily French
spelling study- test tomorrow
Ch4 novel and question activity for Who is Frances Rain?
Band
Math 7
rounding numbers review activity (set for homework last night- about half the class completed it) and we did the correct answers together (examples from this worksheet will be used for Friday's quiz)
We started work on an activity that uses (or puts into practice) the divisibility rules that we worked on last week.
We completed today's class with a demonstration (that was cut short due to time) of the place value algorithm for multiplying numbers. It is another method of organizing long (or large) mutliplication if the traditional method is confusing. I need to spend more time showing how it is done and giving the students a chance to try it out- tomorrow.
no new homework- study or review for Friday's quiz
Silent Reading
Personal Planning- class rep and alternate for Student Forum, seating arrangement #3 discussion, some reminders and housekeeping items that need a 'tweak' (like lining up, break time issues and info. about who is travelling on a bus to get to school)
Physical Ed. Circle Dodge- Was there a better communication today? Yes and No!! Some issues with understanding how much time can be wasted waiting for general attention to get an activity started.
Took a bit longer at the gym today because we could and needed to be calm before heading back to class.
We made an effort to implement a new seating arrangement but by the time everyone was seated the general feeling in the class was that it was not the best
arrangement and the students gave me the go ahead to (get this) make a seating plan for them YEAH! Nothing like a little reverse psychology :) Love it.
Dismissal - homework and planners, clean up and have a nice evening.
Mrs. J.
