"fat rain" Wednesday, July 13th

Felt the urge to post about the joys of summer time even in the rain...one thing I truly enjoy (it might be my Scottish roots) is a good summer rain storm as everything smells so wonderfully fresh after it is over. A rainy day also doesn't make me feel guilty for spending two more hours (okay, three) in my jammies reading and sipping on coffee instead of 'getting on with things"! Hope you know what I mean :)

I have been enjoying clearing out old files both virtual and hard copy and making room for new ideas that I have been intrigued by from reading and watching programs that I put on the backburner to get through the last month of school. One that I recommend is the PBS documentary about Digital Media: New learners in the 21st Century (about an hour) . It is a luxury to have the time to do it without being distracted as I inveitably am by other things like laundry and cleaning the kitty litter!

My goal this summer is to learn how to forward or imbed these recommendaions to this blog (I am slow at incorporating technology). Last summer I learned how to post a picture- as evidence here is one of my students and colleague (Matt) at Evans lake camp this June and please note this was 'down time'. Here are a couple more (showing off now!!)

June 6th- the first 'jump in the lake'
when we say you can 'go jump in the lake', we mean it literally

gathering for campfire- hot chocolate and cookies to come

Let me know if you'd like to see more.

Okay now I'm messing around with the add video line on the Blog and I am just learning by trial and error so this might not be the correct video- I am not too sure if I've successfully downlaoded it or not.

More later- or sooner if I have to log back in to delete!! Actually no, I have previewed it and it is the correct video and I like how it is pieced up for those of us who don't have an hour to sit at a computer screen!
I'd better go get a move on now...
