I followed a double rainbow on my drive home last night and it was still visible from my back yard when I arrived home! It was very cool- usually rainbows are faint and disappear or fade fast but our strange weather of late made the conditions perfect for a long and strong show of the light spectrum.
Oh. and the Canucks won! Yeah. Believe it or not, things were very much calmer today in class and I am certain it wasn't just the new seating plan although that helped.

Math complete the circumference work sent home to be completed last night (only a handful had not completed it) and worked today on more practice finding circumference. I kept a newspaper article (2007) about the new ferris wheel at the PNE and there were so many great connectikons to math that we worked through a series of math problems using the article's information.
DEAR better today- I encouraged some to get their desks cleaned and better organized
Socials- slide show- Day 2 in Athens visiting the sights and main city of Athens including Hadrian's Arch, the water clock, the Agora where there was an archaeological dig underway, the Cathedral in the Plakka and the Byzantine church beside it, the library, the museum and the hike up to the Acroplois.
We discussed exchange rates of 1993 and the value of the Drachma notes and coins I still have. I also showed a picture of a typical 'water closet' or bathroom in a hotel! They are quite different from North American bathroom layouts and don't expect any decent water pressure- you have to run around to get wet in the 'shower'!!
Computers
Had the students look up the difference in the Euro exchange rate today and compare. Then I asked them to google the Parthenon (which we are visiting tomorrow!). The girls who shot their commercials before the break finally had the chance to see them and they giggled right through them. I was given permission to show their work to the rest of the class. :)
Phys. Ed. Line basketball- good job of getting oragnized- these students LOVE basketball :)
3pm Dismissal
Keep dry :) The sun is on its way (from somewhere else in the world I guess- give it time!)
