December 15th - Wednesday

 No Homework tonight but be back at school between 6 and 6:30pm.

I thought that I'd get a jump start on the Blog today because we are so busy after school. It's difficult to do this on a normal day but right now I have rewarded the class with some free time at computers so I am madly trying to update the Blog before our session is finished for the day.

Tonight is the BIG night for the Christmas concert- it starts at 6:30pm so I have encouraged my students to be back in class by 6pm or at least by 6:15pm if they do not have another part to play. I am so proud of the grade sevens as they are involved in all aspects of the concert in MCing, sound, staging, singing, dancing, managing the order of the class performances and making sure they are there at the right time.
AND, as I predicted,  the students were fabulous (even with our little mistakes) and the audience today really liked the Christmas song and attempt at dancing so it was well worth all the sleepless nights.

Lunch bell has just sounded - gotta go. More later!!

So it is now 5pm and I have just returned from an after school yoga session - I thought I wasn't going to make it but I am so grateful that I did- it helps when your colleagues hold you accountable for the shows and the no-shows!! :)

I am back in class- thought I was going to shop BUT found that I left my wallet at home!! I think somebody is trying to tell me something. The students will be here in an hour or so. I'll hang out here and get organized and dressed.

General Day
9-10:30 recess Christmas Concert dress rehearsal- we all had a chance to see every class and their performance. It was very entertaining- you'll enjoy it I think :)

11-11:30 practice the grand finale- it is a logistics thing getting every student on the stage and every angelic face seen!!
11:30- noon Computers- students had a choice of free time or research time- guess which the majority chose?
1-1:30 DEAR time - last recorded reading time of the year- collected all the reading records- draw for the MP3 Player tomorrow
1:30-2:20 Art- finish up decoration for the gym tonight- snowflakes etc.
clean up, pack up and down to the gym for a final run through before tonight.
It was a bit chotic as the students were a bit 'high' and tired- a few seem to have come down with a coughing 'bug' this week. I know it'll be fine tonight- it's only a five minutes perofrmance and then the finale and it's all over for another year.
