Tuesday March 23rd

No homework BUT sent home today were a number of notices that I would like to bring to your attention
1. March 27th Garage Sale reminder and call for donated 'stuff' needed by Friday March 26th (or the day of the garage sale)
2. Camp Behaviour Commitment form- outlining conditions for attendance-once the form is returned signed by student and parent the camp information package will be sent home- my intention is to send it home in the report card envelopes on Monday March 29th
3. Please remember the student-led conference booking sheets- so far eveyone signed up so far has their first (desired) time
4. Please ask your son or daughter for the Don Ross Secondary School course selection form for grade 8- you need to approve their elective choice (band or fine arts rotation) and sign it too.

I would like to share that Greg Wamsley the coordinator of the Paralympic organizing committee e-mailed his thanks to the schools that took part in the program. Apparently 30,000 tickets were dispersed to 19 different events for 190 different schools!! He was amazed that there was only one lost backpack (returned the next day) and no lost children in the two weeks the events were held. Pertty amazing indeed!!

General Day
  • return last spelling test Unit 20- great results (see Blog from yesterday) :)
  • looked at the connection between vocabulary development and writing descriptively to improvement of written work and imagery- we will be undertaking a unit of creative writing in Term 3 creating myths, poetry and possible some short stories.
