Trying to remember the blog at a decent time for parents who are interested in the homework ...
Finding many tired students whose late nights seem to be catching up with them!! One of my homework assignments is to get a good night's sleep LOL
Homework
I have asked students to work on the note-taking and paragraph writing for their social studies project and to bring in any work that is at home for a progress check. Some students have borrowed class texts and others have enough notes and now need to start formulating notes into sentences. There will be class time BUT getting a section or two done at home is recommended.
Spelling test unit 12 on Thursday
GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP!
General Day
started with spelling and a review quiz on 'there, their and they're'
completed a challenging puzzle identifying the exceptions to the 'i before e' spelling rule
SRA reading time (allowing the students to get some consistent time to read this first week back)
French - we did a very basic review of the time, weather and days, dates and months- everyone is a little rusty!
Family groups
Math- continued with the transformation work- quite a few students did not complete the booklet for homework which slowed things up a bit. We will be using the text book Practise (p24-26) to continue with more examples of translations, rotations and refelections. Math will be first thing in the morning tomorrow.
Afternoon
Physical Education with Mr. Parker
DEAR time - more reading and less sharing needed!!
Socials research and writing time- many students were having difficulty getting settled into quiet work so tomorrow this time will be offered in the morning to see if it makes a difference to the students' concentration and work ethic- I'll keep you posted.
Where did the day go? Have a good evening.
Mrs. J.
