Tuesday May 26th- not a long one tonight as it is later than I expected and I still nedd to get packed!!!
Our 'grad' hoodies arrived just in time :) I would like if the students would wear them for easy ID on the ferry tomorrow :)
Be at the school with gear in tow by 6:45am. We will be making a stop at Brittania just after 7am so we can pick up our Brittania students. They will be at the bus stop by the mining museum.
There are still four commitment forms to get for camp - I will ensure those students sign them before we arrive at camp!!
Couple of items NOT on the list are swimming gear and SUNSCREEN
I am pleased to announce that Denis Harney will be able to come with us as a male chaperone. Thank you to the brave parents who are coming along.
As for work today- it was hard to keep them on-task but we did manage to have time for vocab-u-lous, novel Chapter 4-6 activity, math practise of the formula for perimeter and area with a look at the trapezoid and the use of pi (3.14) to determine the circumference of circles.
We did a bit of info; reading and sketching about Karst (water) formed caves so things might be a bit less of a mystery when we go spelunking on Thursday.
We finished our day with (lets just say) a spirited game of Slahal (bones) a native cultural game which included the song to invite the 'spirits' to come and help you win. I think some long since dead ancestors were invoked by the amount of sing-screaming the students made this afternoon.
Hope the 11 students staying behind have a productive rest of the week.
See everyone bright and early for the first leg of our trip to Horne Lake- are you excited yet?
