Apologies for not following up with the day's Blog on Friday- a few students had a word with me.
Here is a quick Friday review before I begin today...

Friday March 30th (belated)
General Day
We changed the day's order a little so we could fit in a different schedule. We had so many assignments and activities that needed some time that this is how we 'rolled':
Morning 9-9:45am Literature Circle time for the assignments and preparation of the posters (no poster board was distributed unti I saw a graphic plan or story board). Students worked well independently and together.
9:45-10am + some groups needed some completion time on the new video games/chocolate bar project. Most are completed or within completion. A couple of partnerships have to arrange for some time at home either individually or getting together to get them completed.
10-10:30 am Computer session- most used this time for the downloads and word processing of their Literature circle assignments.
Math: 2007 Province article about the 'new' 27m diameter ferris wheel. We completed a booklet of questions about the PNE and discovered how much the PNE spent on new rides and updates compared to how much revenue the PNE brings in. Very interesting. This activity highlighted how math skills are connected to the world we live in.
Afternoon we spent 1 hour on a textbook activity for Chemistry which asked for reasonable inferences about mass and volume. It had students practice determining the density differences among a variety of matter.
2-2:40 as the day was one of the most pleasant all week we took a game of team tag outside
2:40-3pm silent reading was moved to the day's end to promote a calmer and quieter dismissal.

Now about today...
I have an important meeting after school and may have to finish this post from home BUT
I'll see where I can reach (we are at the computer lab!)

Math 7 please complete the text book work from Mathlinks 7, Chapter 8 # 11-15 p 277 and p280 # 7- 10
Math 6 fractions values worksheet- placement of value
Spelling list Unit 1 term 3 for test Thursday
Keep working on the Lit circle activites
Potsers may need to be completed at home- sort it out with your group

Silent reading (not so silent today!)
Social Studies Gr 6 Poverty Patterns and Gr 7 introduction to Ancient Greece
Library exchange
Computers- followed up with today's socila studies themes
class clean up and dismissal
