General Day
I booked an extra half hour for research in the computer lab for students this morning- most used it very wisely and seemed to be very engaged (if I say so myself) in their power point presentations for science. It made my day when one of my students was so amazed at the amount of money it would take, not to mention the upkeep of a salt-water aquarium, for his virtual 'pet' (Clownfish) that he has decided it is not worth all the trouble. YES, my work here is done! lol

spelling study

Socials research from text- note taking - students working on the same civilizations/countries have been encouraged to share resources- not their notes!

chapter from Word Nerd in which Ambrose tries to befriend Cosmo but is not as successful as he would have liked to be (Cosmo soaks him in water from the hose he was washing his car with!)

Math
Review of skills for transformation- reflection (flip) Corrected together using visual examples from the overhead worksheet 10.3 and compared our class progress to the text book examples in Chapter 1. We are making great progress. Tomorrow we are going to study the skill of the transformation called a rotation (turn). Tok the opportunity to empty the math binders from Term 1 to make way for the new Learning Outcomes for Term 2. List to come for  your information as soon as I get it organized :)

11:30-noon on-line Math examples, games and examples from Mathlinks 7 Ch 1 and IXL grade 7

silent reading

French- still at the design and draw stage of our refrigerateur francais

Phys Ed. Basketball drill and 4 teams play cross gym incorporating the drill shots. Still a little wild west- really have to review (or teach) the rules of the game before I need a class medic/physio! Manged to have an extra 10-15 minutes

Back in class worked more on the fridges while I distributed the items from the fundraiser to students (there were quite a few) Thank-you for all that support. All I need now are the books to arrive from Scholastic and the students will be happy!

We packed up activities and I gathered the 'fridges' to ensure no one's fridge gets emptied in the night(!!)- cleaned desks, tidied up (well some did) and before we knew it the Dismissal bell was upon us.

It is rather cold tonight- stay warm. See everyone tomorrow.
Get well soon Sarah- we miss you
Mrs. J.
