I am tired tonight!! However, I will go to the Bottle Depot as soon as this is finished to settle with the account for the weekend bottle drive.
Homework
Nothing new
Reminders about those ever elusive forms still waiting for 11 Goal sheets, 1 camp package (several in Div 2)
General day
Language activity on Greek and Latin Roots- the students made light work of a vocabulary and root association package today.
Did you know that the Latin motto for the USA is 'e pluribus unem' meaning one form many? I learned something new today too! I am embarrassed to say I don't know if there is a latin one for CAnada- I'll be checking (because I forgot to ask the students to check!!)
I just looked it up and there is a motto 'a mari usque ad mare' which translated means from sea to sea. Cool, huh? (just can't beat Google for speed)
Music with Mrs McPhee students were excited today about playing guitar :)
Math today's lesson on the types of angles created by perpendicular, interesecting and transversals (lines interescting/bisecting) parallel lines. We looked at 'patterns' for opposite, alternate, corresponding and interior/exterior angles. A practice booklet was distributed but not started today- follow up tomorrow.
Before lunch we completed the next Greek mythological story- just one more to go and every student in the class as a group will be familiar with six different stories from classic Greek Mythology.
Physical Ed with Mr. Parker
DEAR time (tried for some computer time but will have to do that tomorrow)
Art- students are making some fabulous progress on their depictions of gods, godessess, heros and heroines, monsters and beasts of Ancient Greek Mythology. Impressive- a few more were completed today- we'll have to have a gallery soon.
Where did the day go? Que tempus fugit (how time flies) Toodles.
Have a good evening.
Mrs. J.
