Brief one tonight folks. I have to go get ketchup etc for the potluck tonight!!
Had a VERY busy Thursday but again I have been please with our progress and the organization and routines, while still a work in progress, are coming along well (slowly but so far so good).
I am a bit frustrated with students who are writing the planners and listening (or appear to be listening) to the homework speil at the end of the day but who still walk away and leave everything lying behind them or stuffed into their desks. Need to put our thinking caps on and come up with some ways to address personal responsibility.
I did rush at the end of the day so I need at least 10 minutes to cover the end of day organization and will ensure enough time so the bell is not ringing to signal the day's end before we are ready to leave. As I said the days seem to be going by so quickly that my head is spinning!!
We had a great week together.
District Pro-D day tomorrow so don't send your 'sweeties' to school :)
HOMEWORK
I provided a writing guide for the 2nd reader's response for the novel (Chapters 6-10). I have asked for a rough copy and a good copy for Monday
Some students have individual assignments to get caught up or completed- a poster at the front of the class reminds them (some have sticky note reminders in their planners)
Reminders:
$$$ for various programs (milk, planner, cross country, Camp Summit etc)
Verification forms need to be sent back to the office
